More than Welcome is for those who want to think about what it takes to support the full participation of disabled people at their church. As well as get practical support, inspiration and guidance on how to understand the needs of disabled people in their congregation.
This course will train your church to respond to the challenge of disability. Whether it’s members of the youth group who have autism, older people with sight or hearing loss, people with learning disabilities or families struggling to care for a relative with dementia, every church has members affected by disability.

Together we will explore what it means to become a church where everyone can belong – one that doesn’t just welcome disabled people, but includes them within church life, and encourages them to grow and participate.
We will be discussing questions like:
If you want to build the skills to work with people with learning disabilities, this course is for you. We talk about the Biblical principles behind welcoming disabled people, then look at communication, worship, prayer and teaching. We talk about how to use these skills in your church setting, and support people to participate fully in church life.
More than Welcome disability training is for anyone who would like to welcome people with learning disabilities into their church and worship.
These practical days have an emphasis on putting theory into practice, discussions with people from other groups and exploring techniques around enabling participation and using inclusive language.
