Livability shares disability best practice with Japan

Group pictureLivability has had the opportunity to share its knowledge and experience of supporting disabled and disadvantaged people with a group of 25 Japanese business leaders who provide similar help and facilities in their own country.

On Monday 8 September the Livability team met with the group who has come to Europe to learn more about best practice in other countries.

After researching various care providers and disability charities in the UK, the Japanese delegates chose Livability as the organisation they wanted to know more about and exchange ideas with.

Livability gave Rob Townsend and Japanese businessmana variety of presentations to the group on topics such as employment, the importance of giving disabled people real choices and specialist education, as well as an overview of all the services it offers. The presentations were followed by a lively Q&A session.

The team also discussed how as a charity Livability has a unique role to play in term of creating more inclusive communities and in campaigning for the rights of disabled and disadvantaged people.
